It is the anniversary of the very sad and very unfortunate death of Kenzie Houk and her unborn baby, Christopher. While we cannot do anything to bring either of them back, we can take a stand against the further victimization of people involved in this case.

Right now what we are going is writing to people to ask for intervention in Jordan's case. I have three main targets, but I'm open to other ideas. Facebook event page is here:

The three targets are as follows and please take a moment to write to these people to ask for the immediate trial or release of Jordan Brown. I will post a letter I sent shortly if that helps at all.

Here's what I wrote in one letter:

I am writing you with regard to 14 year old Jordan Brown. He was 11 when he was charged with double homicide in Pennsylvania. It has been three long years and he has not yet received a trial. PA has a statute that states a person should be tried within one year of having been charged and yet three years of his young life are gone. He continues to proclaim his innocence and the prosecution has never presented any direct physical evidence linking him to the murder. Instead, evidence has since emerged suggesting that there was a rush to judgement in settling on Jordan for the murders.

Incarcerating Jordan for three years without a trial is a violation of his due process rights. This isn't the first time his constitutional rights have been violated. I am writing you to ask you to please intervene and put a stop to this. Jordan needs to be tried or released immediately. Valuable time has been wasted in many regards. If he had been found guilty he could have spent this time in a rehabilitation program (something he has not done as he awaits his right to trial). If found innocent, he could have been spending this time with his loved ones while police and the state of PA finally sought the real killer in Kenzie Houk's murder.

Right now the one thing holding this up is three media outlets who feel it is their right to have access to Jordan's trial now that it has been moved to juvenile court. They have appealed the county judge's denial of access to the Superior court and arguments won't even be heard until March 28th. There is no timeline or deadline for the Superior Court to rule, leaving Jordan at the mercy of the courts indefinitely. This is WRONG.

This is a travesty on so many levels. It reflects so poorly on the state of PA and also on America as a whole. I urge you to please do something to stop this injustice.

I look forward to hearing from you,

This is a great idea! I feel helpless as well.  So unfair, that this has happened. So very unfair.
