TIMELINE OF EVENTS
FEBRUARY 20th
7am - Chris Brown (Jordan's father) left for work

http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/09084/958103-455.stm9am-10am - Just before about 10am 4-year old Adalynn is described as alerting tree trimmers near or on the family property that she thinks her mother is dead.
Tree trimmers said that Adalynn came to the door crying and alerted them to her mothers death. Steve Cable went over and asked what was wrong (footprints). He tried to call the property owner to get permission to go inside by couldn't reach him so he called 911.

10:13am - Police arrived on the scene. Trooper Harry Gustafson described Adalynn crying inside when he arrived. He said that to the right of the front door he could see Kenzie lying on her bed, showing how close the bedroom was to the door.
Morning - State police go to the Mohawk Elementary School to question Jordan and Janessa. Jordan tells them about seeing the black truck on the family property.
Police spend about five hours looking into the black truck sighting.
10pm - Trooper Janice Wilson questioned Jordan again at his grandmother's house. She said he changed his story and said he saw a white truck with headlights on the morning of the murders.

She then implicates Jordan in the murders (which she hadn't previously done). She did not say she saw him commit the murders, but she said that she saw him with what she believed to be the shotgun and then heard a loud bang. She told police that Jordan took something from his pocket while outside and threw it down. This is where police claim to have found a spent shotgun shell.

2:50am: Jordan is charged with murder and arrested

Jordan's attorney, Dennis Elisco, filed a request to have Jordan moved from the country jail to a juvenile facility that could accommodate minors.
FEBRUARY 24th, 2009
Judge ordered Jordan to be moved from county jail to Allencrest Juvenile Detention Center in Beaver, PA though he was still being charged with murder as an adult per Pennsylvania law.
FEBRUARY 25th, 2009
Jordan was tranported from the county jail to the juvenile facility at 7:30am on Wednesday, February 25th, 2009.

Jordan was supposed to have his preliminary hearing on this date but it was delayed until March 24th, 2009.

Jordan is moved to the Edmund L. Thomas Adolescent Center in Erie. Officials moved him because it would be cheaper to house him in the new facility.

Preliminary hearing takes place. By this time he has been moved to Edmund L. Thomas Adolescent Center in Erie.
The judge ruled that Jordan would not be tried as a minor in juvenile court.
Dennis Elisco said the preliminary hearing lasted for one day.
May 6th, 2009
Jordan is arraigned and charged with one count of first-degree criminal homicide and one count of first-degree criminal homicide of an unborn child. He plead not guilty.
JULY 2nd, 2009
Chris Brown testified that he was not informed the police were questioning his son at the school. This was one of the reasons the attorneys wanted the statements suppressed. Jordan was not told he was free to leave the room while being questioned. Based on the testimony, Judge Motto said he would schedule oral arguments for a later date.

Jordan's lawyers asked that Judge Motto suppress evidence against Jordan. District Attorney Bongivengo admitted that the search of Jordan's school records was "improper".

They also asked Judge Motto to dismiss most of the prosecution's evidence, including statements that Jordan made to a state trooper on February 20th and evidence gathered from the home. Judge ruled that he would not suppress the statements that Jordan made to Trooper Wilson at the school, even though his father had not been notified that the interview had been taking place. He also refused to throw out evidence gathered from a search resulting from a warrant missing a signature.
The judge agreed to suppress evidence consisting of personal items, psychological examinations, writings, clothing, and other documented information obtained during the search that otherwise would have been used against Jordan.

Judge denies request to have the case transferred to juvenile court. The judge denied the request because Jordan would not admit to the crime and was therefore (in the eyes of the judge) not taking responsibility for his actions.

A three-person Superior Court panel overheard arguments from state prosecutors and Jordan's attorneys pertaining to whether or not he should be tried in an adult or juvenile court.
MARCH 11th, 2011
Three person Superior court panel ruled that Jordan's constitutional rights were violated by Judge Motto's ruling and remanded his case back to county court.
