I have some information about the ruling and what to do about it if you know someone affected. I talked to someone at the Equal Justice Initiative. First, they urged people not to file pro se to ask the courts for a resentencing hearing. Filings should be done by an attorney. EJI is coming up with strategies to help people do this. They are taking in requests for help through regular mail. If you send a request you want to give some information about the case, the age of the person when charged, and contact information. You can also call their main number, but you will have more luck sending a formal letter requesting assistance. This is what was relayed to me. Don't have anyone file anything on their own. This could hurt their chances a lot.
